Does melasma affect your self-confidence? We’re excited to now offer a highly innovative system that targets and treats unwanted pigmentation on the face and body. Developed in Spain, Cosmelan is a two-phase intensive treatment of a highly potent depigmenting mask. It can correct pigmentation caused by:

  • Sun exposure

  • Blemishes

  • Hormonal changes

  • Genetic tendencies

  • Aging

  • Exposure to certain chemicals

  • Trauma or invasive treatments

Instead of covering your face with heavy makeup or foundation, return your skin to its natural tone. The Cosmelan depigmentation treatment is very effective on all types of skin: light, medium or dark tones. Here are the benefits of Cosmelan:

  • Effective for all types of melasma

  • The product is compatible with all skin types

  • The peeling effect rejuvenates and increases luminosity of the skin

  • Treatments can start and be used year-round

  • As a bonus, it’s also effective for combatting acne

The Cosmelan Depigmentation Treatment Process

Cosmelan de-pigmentation begins with a Medical Master Aesthetician applying a leave-on mask which encourages skin peeling. Following the peel, you will continue with easy-to-follow home care products to achieve full results. Cosmelan is a topical option for melasma, acne, and other pigment problems. This system has a direct suppression effect on the formation of pigment (melanin).

Note from our Aestheticians:

Melasma is a skin condition that needs constant attention. Our aestheticians frequently follow-up with micropeels or microneedling after the skin has healed from Cosmelan. It’s especially important to wear and reapply sunscreen daily if you live with melasma.

What are the active ingredients of Cosmelan?

Cosmelan is a blend of Vitamin C, azaleic acid, phytic acid and kojic acid in a retinol base. Hydroquinone and retinoic acid have been added to the time-proven formula for faster and more complete pigmentation clearing.

Who is not a good candidate for Cosmelan?

Do not use Cosmelan if you are a pregnant or nursing woman, or have been using Accutane for the past six months. Your medical history will be reviewed, and it will be determined if you are a candidate for the treatment.

How many treatments are necessary for full depigmentation?

Most patients will achieve desirable results with one application of the peel. Occasionally, you will need to repeat the process for full results. Since skin cells turnover throughout the years, you will need to continue with a maintenance program to prevent the darkening of the pigment. The aestheticians at Ogden Clinic frequently incorporate microneedling and micropeels with the Cosmelan system to help manage dark spots, which tend to be a long-term up-keep.
